Audi A1 quattro by ABT

German tuner ABT has decided to take a look at the limited-run Audi A1 quattro and see if they can make it even more impressive. While the standard model pumps out 256 HP (188 kW) from the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, this tuned version unleashes 307 HP (226 kW). The torque figure is also up from the standard 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) to 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) between 2,500 rpm and 5,000 rpm. As a consequence to this power hike, the A1 quattro is capable of doing the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 5.4 seconds, making it 0.3 seconds quicker than the stock model. According to ABT, this power boost does not have an impact on the pocket rocket’s fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.

ABT AS1 Sportback

ABT has worked their magic on the new Audi A1 Sportback to create the AS1 Sportback. Giving the smallest Audi a styling and performance lift, ABT boasts that ‘Sports is back’. On the styling front, ABT have left the front S-Line bumper as is, but have added carbon fibre vents to the wings just behind the wheels, and there are carbon fibre side skirt additions too. At the rear there is a carbon diffuser with a centrally mounted twin exit exhaust system to give the A1 a bit of much needed aural embellishment. Giving the biggest visual improvement are a set of 18-inch ABT split-rim alloy wheels which are considerably lighter than the stock items. There’s been a fair bit of work under the bonnet too, with the 1.4 litre TFSi engine in both states of tune a boost. The 122 hp model jumps to 160 hp, while 185 hp variant now has 210 hp, enough for a decent performance increase. There are also smaller increases available for the 1.2 litre petrol and 1.6 litre TDi engines.

MTM Audi A1 Nardo Edition

On the occassion of the annual Nardo Highspeed gathering attended by select tuning companies such as 9ff, G-Power, SpeedArt and MKB, MTM modified the engine to produce 500 PS (368 kW / 493 hp) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. It sends power to the front-wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, which enables the A1 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph).

The only special modification made to improve aerodynamics was the use of wheel covers.

The Audi A1 by Senner Tuning

Following its previous package for the A1, Senner Tuning has a new program for the Audi A1 that boosts power even higher than on its earlier make-over.

This time, output on the 1.4 TFSI (coupled with the S-Tronic 7-speed, dual-clutch gearbox) is boosted up to 165 PS (121 kW / 163 bhp) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque. The previous tuning was good for 115 kW (156 PS / 154 hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft).

Senner Tuning also adds a new exhaust system with double 90 mm end pipes and a KW suspension lowering kit.

This particular tuning job pictured here has the A1 dressed in brown with Amalfi White accents for the mirrors, roof arches and those 19-inch rims - called the Barracuda Tzunamee (Tsunami) which come in dimensions 9 x 19 inches wrapped with 225/35R19 tires.

For the interior upgrade, Senner Tuning provides a multifunction steering wheel, a finish in velvet beige and black as well as floor mats with their own logo.

The total package, car included, cost €36,590.

Audi A1 by Pogea Racing

The German tuner starts with a power upgrade on the Audi A1 that involves a special kind of ECU tinkering to get around the VW Group's password-protected software system on the control unit. They disabled it.

So what does this Stage I tuning get us? Well, a decent amount of extra horses on the 1.4 liter TSI engine with total output now at 156 PS (115 kW / 154 bhp) and 266 Nm (196 lb-ft) of torque up from the series'122 PS (90 kW / 120 bhp) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft). That includes a sport air filer from BMC. The electronically-limited top speed is also lifted so that this A1 can now make it to 245 km/h (152 mph) as opposed to the standard 202 km/h (125 mph).

Pogea Racing additionally provides a Variant 1 Inox-Line KW coil-over kit and lightweight 18-inch OZ Racing Alleggerita HLT rims with ET35 Sport Contact 3 tires from Continental. Brembo brakes with perforated discs are part of the package too.

The house-made sport exhaust system features a front and rear silencer and two stainless-steel 76 mm tailpipes with laser engraving.

For more serious customers, Pogea Racing also offers a Stage II on the Audi A1 with charged air cooling and more electronics work. Stage II also gets a Variant 2 KW suspension with special characteristics.

Audi A1 1.4 TSI by HS Motorsport

HS Motorsport has tuned the Audi A1 1.4 TSI. But the German tuner is not acting alone.

Working with partner Autohaus Kempen, the tuning job starts with a silver finish for the car, a design outsourced to CFC Styling Station. A Fox Sport exhaust system with Golf R-like tailpipes and housed in a rear diffuser topped by a modified rear bumper promises a throaty sound.

Under the hood, the 1.4 liter TSI engine with a standard output of 122 PS (90 kW) and 200 Nm gets a bump up to 147 PS (108 kW) and 250 Nm of torque.

For sportier handling, there's also a coilover suspension kit from H&R that lowers the ride height of the A1 by 55 mm at the front and 60 mm at the back.

Two options are available for a new set of 18-inch wheels. The ASA GT1 rims come with a black silk matte finish and a silver ring. The seven double spoke ASA GT2 are available in either a black silk matte or anthracite shine finish. The 8.5 x 18-inch rims comes wrapped in 215/35R18 tires from either Hankook or Vredestein.

Inside, HS Motorsport has fitted the A1 with Recaro Sportster CS lightweight bucket seats. An Alpine sound and navigation system is also available as an option.
