Hennessey Performance Engineering has released the first details about their upcoming tuning program for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The Texas-based tuner plans to offer two different performance packages for the C7 Coupe and Convertible. The first kit will use a supercharger to enable the model to develop up to 700 bhp (522 kW). The other kit will use twin-turbos for an output somewhere in the range of 800-1000 bhp (596-746 kW). Both packages will likely rely on the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that normally develops 450 bhp (336 kW) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque.
Hennessey also plans to offer a variety of accessories including cold air induction systems, cat-back exhaust systems and stainless steel long-tube headers. We can also expect a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and "wheel and tire upgrades."
The Corvette goes on sale in the third quarter of 2013, so expect the packages to show up several months after that.
