There's also carbon fiber side flaps, an aggressive diffuser and a rear wing. The model has also been equipped with 21-inch diamond forged alloy wheels ($12,995 / €9,990) and a titanium exhaust system ($5,495 / €4,225) that produces "screams so loud that it's likely not legal in most countries."
Moving on to the interior, customers can order a bespoke cabin ($16,495 / €12,680) with leather or Alcantara upholstery as well as carbon fiber or exotic wood trim.
The components can be ordered individually or as a complete package for $59,980 (€46,110).

McLaren MP4-12C Spider Terso by FAB Design

FAB Design has applied its Terso body kit to the McLaren MP4-12C Spider, following last year's coupe version. The car seen in these photos was unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon showcasing a body kit featuring bigger air intakes, updated side air intakes, side skirts, diffuser and rear bumper. It has a new rear spoiler which is installed over the top of the stock unit. There's also a front splitter mounted below the windscreen, just like in the coupe. It sits on 20-inch FAB-Design Evolution forged wheels covered by Dunlop SP SportMaxx tires. Other changes include a proprietary stainless steel sports exhaust system and a three-chamber carbon tail pipe which have increased the output from 616 hp (460 kW) to 680 hp (507 kW). Most likely, other hardware changes (like an ECU upgrade) were necessary to reach this output.
Thanks to these tweaks, the McLaren MP4-12C Spider Terso reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in three seconds and can hit a top speed of 213 mph (343 km/h). FAB Design said they plan on making only 10 units.

McLaren Definition

Source (google.com.pk)
Chief engineer Gordon Murray's design concept was a common one among designers of high-performance cars: low weight and high power. This was achieved through use of high-tech and expensive materials such as carbon fibre, titanium, gold, magnesium and kevlar. The F1 was the first production car to use a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis.
The three seat setup inside an F1.
Gordon Murray had been thinking of a three-seat sports car since his youth. When Murray was waiting for a flight home from the fateful Italian Grand Prix in 1988, he drew a sketch of a three seater sports car and proposed it to Ron Dennis. He pitched the idea of creating the ultimate road car, a concept that would be heavily influenced by the company's Formula One experience and technology and thus reflect that skill and knowledge through the McLaren F1.
Murray declared that "During this time, we were able to visit with Ayrton Senna (the late F1 Champion) and Honda's Tochigi Research Center. The visit related to the fact that at the time, McLaren's F1 Grand Prix cars were using Honda engines. Although it's true I had thought it would have been better to put a larger engine, the moment I drove the Honda NSX, all the benchmark cars—Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini—I had been using as references in the development of my car vanished from my mind. Of course the car we would create, the McLaren F1, needed to be faster than the NSX, but the NSX's ride quality and handling would become our new design target. Being a fan of Honda engines, I later went to Honda's Tochigi Research Center on two occasions and requested that they consider building for the McLaren F1 a 4.5 litre V12 or V14. I asked, I tried to persuade them, but in the end could not convince them to do it, and the McLaren F1 ended up equipped with a BMW engine."
Later, a pair of Ultima MK3 kit cars, chassis numbers 12 and 13, "Albert" and "Edward", the last two MK3s, were used as "mules" to test various components and concepts before the first cars were built. Number 12 was used to test the gearbox with a 7.4 litre Chevrolet V8, plus various other components such as the seats and the brakes. Number 13 was the test of the V12, plus exhaust and cooling system. When McLaren was done with the cars they destroyed both of them to keep away the specialist magazines and because they did not want the car to be associated with "kit cars".
The car was first unveiled at a launch show, 28 May 1992, at The Sporting Club in Monaco. The production version remained the same as the original prototype (XP1) except for the wing mirror which, on the XP1, was mounted at the top of the A-pillar. This car was deemed not road legal as it had no indicators at the front; McLaren was forced to make changes on the car as a result (some cars, including Ralph Lauren's, were sent back to McLaren and fitted with the prototype mirrors). The original wing mirrors also incorporated a pair of indicators which other car manufacturers would adopt several years later.
The car's safety levels were first proved when during a testing in Namibia in April 1993, a test driver wearing just shorts and t-shirt hit a rock and rolled the first prototype car several times. The driver managed to escape unscathed. Later in the year, the second prototype (XP2) was especially built for crashtesting and passed with the front wheel arch untouched.

Hamann memoR

Hamann's McLaren MP4-12C based memoR has been given the art car treatment to make "grass-green Porsches, neon yellow Lamborghinis and even luminous red Ferraris" fade into the background. Described as "magnificent haute couture," the multi-colored model has an aerodynamic body kit that draws inspiration from the McLaren F1. It features a new front bumper with LED daytime running lights, a front splitter and a roof-mounted air intake. There's also revised side skirts, an extended diffuser, a prominent rear wing and 21-inch aluminum wheels. The styling kit is priced from €95,000 ($123,225) which sounds pretty expensive since it doesn't appear to include any performance upgrades. However, customers can order a bespoke interior with everything from Alcantara upholstery to wood trim.

HAMANN memoR based on the McLaren MP4-12C

Hamann celebrated the world debut of its McLaren MP4-12C tuning program with the unveiling of the memoR at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The German company has now released a batch of new photos showcasing the model.
Hamann has failed to supply any engine tuning details, suggesting the package is unfortunately all about style. Perhaps the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine has been deemed sufficient and continues to produce the factory output of 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque.
The body kit meanwhile has been extensively updated with Hamann's own package. It includes a new front bumper with integrated LED lights, a new rear wing, a more aggressive hood with integrated air vents and an extensively redesigned rear end with a new triple-tailpipe layout and an extended rear diffuser.
The exterior design is then completed with a glossy black finish featuring a red racing stripe running along the center as well as a set of 21-inch wheels.

Gold covered 999bhp Mercedes McLaren SLR

When you have a Mercedes McLaren SLR and a lot of cash to spare, we could think of more tasteful things to do, but flamboyant Swiss businessman Ueli Anliker decided to use it for this extravagant creation.
Making its first appearance at Tuning World Bodensee last year, the vehicle is now named the ‘Anliker McLaren SLR 999 Red Gold Dream'. Anliker spent a total of 30,000 man hours and £3.5 million. It has been garnished with 25 layers of red paint and 5kg of gold. The wheels, headlights and door sills are covered with 24 carat gold and the inside the cabin we can find 600 rubies worth £300,000. Anliker states the power unit under the hood started with a maximum output of 640bhp (480 kW / 650Php) which suggests this model was once the SLR 722 edition. It has now been boosted to 999bhp (745 kW / 985 PS) and has a top speed of 210mph (338kph). Ueli Anliker will not sell the exclusive model for anything less than £7 million (€8.2 million / $10.8 million).

FAB Design McLaren MP4-12C Terso debuts in Geneva

If you weren't thrilled by the Gemballa GT, Hamann memoR or Mansory McLaren MP4-12C, you might want to check out the Terso by FAB Design.
Looking decidedly aggressive, the car is outfitted with a body kit that includes a new front fascia, revised intakes and a roof-mounted scoop. Out back, there's a modified bumper, a rear diffuser and a carbon fiber wing. To finish things off, the MP4-12C rides on 20-inch wheels with Dunlop SP SportMaxx tires.
For added performance, the car is equipped with a stainless steel sports exhaust system which helps the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine to produce 680 PS (500 kW / 671 hp) and 715 Nm (527 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 80 PS (59 kW / 79 hp) and 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 343 km/h (213 mph).

McLaren Opens its First Two Dealerships

True to its original plan of expanding its dealer network throughout the world, McLaren Automotive today opened its first two dealerships in Germany in the cities of Düsseldorf and Hamburg just in time for the Formula 1 German Grand Prix this weekend.
These are the first dealerships to open after McLaren’s flagship showroom in London. They will be followed by two more in Munich and Frankfurt, while by the end of the year, 30 more showrooms in 19 countries in Europe, North America, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia and Japan will be added to the network.
Aside from the road version of the MP4-12C, every showroom will have a different competition model from McLaren’s rich racing history.
In Hamburg, the car on display will be the MP4/6 with which the late Ayrton Senna won his third, and final, Formula 1 world championship in 1991, while the Dusseldorf dealership will play host to the MP4/5 that won the 1989 title with Alain Prost.

McLaren Decides to Make MP4-12C “More Emotional”

McLaren’s MP4-12C has received a lot of praise from automotive journalists. It has even set the second fastest time ever in the Top Gear power lap. But this doesn’t mean that it’s perfect.
Most who have driven it have placed it below its chief rival, the Ferrari 458 Italia, not because its’ slower (it isn’t) or less capable, but because it lacked the aural charisma and emotional character of the Italian supercar. In other words, it was good, but also a bit clinical.
Therefore, McLaren decided to do something about it just before first deliveries start this week. A McLaren spokesman told Autocar magazine that changes to the MP4-12C to be delivered to customers include “a fruiter exhaust note” as well as “improved throttle response”.
The spokesperson noted that these improvements were made "because of McLaren's F1 mentality to up the pace of development".
McLaren’s engineers tweaked the car’s Intake Sound Generator by altering the butterfly valve found in the tube that connects the engine’s plenum to the cabin. However, this change is noticeable in Track mode only.
“It was a bit too sensible before” admitted the spokesman. “You won’t notice the changes in normal mode, just when you’re really having fun and pushing it. They don’t lead to any performance increase, but they do lead to an emotional increase when you drive the car.”
